Operator says starts gas packing of TurkStream pipe before launch

MOSCOW, Oct 18 (PRIME) -- Gas packing of the first line of Russian pipeline TurkStream has started, the last testing stage before the launch, the operator of the project said in a statement on Friday.

“Natural gas packing of the first out of two lines of the sea part of the TurkStream pipeline has started. This is the last stage of tests before launch of the pipeline,” the company said.

The TurkStream pipeline was designed to consist of two branches with a length of over 900 kilometers and a capacity of 15.75 billion cubic meters each. One of them, finished in May 2018, is to carry Russian gas to Turkey, while the other is to transit gas to the European countries through Turkey and is to be finished in 2019.
